Nearly on par with Disney, Don Bluth's animated features are beautifully animated and contain a refreshing degree of irreverence that's intriguing when compared to Disney's perfectly sugar-coated tales.
Having always been a fan of Bluth's "All Dogs Go to Heaven" I knew it was only a matter of time before I'd have to see the sequel despite it's mountains of awful reviews. So, taking advantage of a sick day where I was drugged up on cold medicine and feeling particularly nostalgic, I gave the sequel a try. Perhaps all the negative reviews cushioned my response, but I didn't think it was TERRIBLE. Not as good as the original, of course but it wasn't painful by any means.
In fact, there was one line that nearly made me snort my chamomile tea. "All Dogs Go to Heaven 2" was made far before "Ratatouille" or Pixar even existed, but the line is pretty amazing in today's context!
